TEACH ABOUT US

UPDATE // DEC 18, 2018

Dear Colleagues,

Just before the holiday break, we'd like to update you on current developments and upcoming events that are part of Teach About US. Read more below on what's happening in Going Green at the moment and what we are planning for 2019. Most significantly, we will extend the project phase until the summer, implement a focus on Alexander von Humboldt, and offer a series of teacher training workshops.

As this year is coming to an end, we would like to thank you for an exciting year once again. Teach About US is not just a platform, it has become a vibrant community committed to excellence in teaching and learning across national and cultural boundaries. Let’s keep the good work going and, even as world leaders struggle to make green change happen, we continue to firmly believe that ‘when the going gets tough, the tough go green!’

Happy holidays to you and your students and colleagues from everyone here at Teach About US!

Yours,
Joannis Kaliampos
on behalf of the Teach About US Team and Partners

GOING GREEN 2018/19

PARTICIPATE NOW!

Going Green competition

This school year’s Going Green project cycle is already in action and we will enter the ‘hot phase’ of the project after the holiday break. Currently, there are 24 courses already participating, among them German-American tandems that were matched with the help of our partners at TOP.

This school year’s project cycle will extend until the early summer. The deadline for the Going Green school competition is going to be Sunday, May 26, 2019. Concluding events and awards will be organized in June.

In 2019 we will also introduce an extension to Going Green focusing on the legacy of Alexander von Humboldt, whose 250th birthday will be commemorated next year. The unit is being developed in cooperation with colleagues at Schubart-Gymnasium in Aalen and will be tested with a course there.
