A number of communities in California, as elsewhere in the U.S., have adopted laws to regulate the use of single-use plastic bags from their businesses or ban them completely. As of last year, Los Angeles has put a law into effect that bans all single-use plastic bags from stores. It is the largest city in the U.S. to do so and is now attracting politicians and activists from other cities to follow their lead.
